A model of the medallion from the Sci-Fi movie John Carter. The base shape and technical details of the digital model were built in Rhino 6 and the decorative sculpture was done in ZBrush. From there the piece were 3D printed on an Ultimaker 2 Extended machine; the inside shell in transparent filament, and the exterior in white filament. The pieces were cleaned, sanded, sprayed with high-fill auto primer, and sanded again. A hole was drilled to accept a momentary push button switch. From there the pieces were spray painted silver. The LED lights were wired, tested, and fitted into the interior shell, and all pieces were assembled. 

This was a Sheridan College 3rd Year project in the Props department. The project covered 3D modelling and prints, basic electronics, and painting and finishing techniques.
